I love it! It looks so much like a construction paper collage that you scanned in. The shadows on each piece of the collage really make this effect successful. I don't know if this was your intention but I really like it that way!
Maybe adding some rocks into the beach foreground would help with the depth of perspective.
Good comment Margo. Looking at it this size it really feels like a diorama. I think you can populate the image with more objects.
You might need to push it until there are too many objects and then back off a bit to really get a balance.
It is interesting that the sky is so ominous. Maybe this could begin to be a part of a narrative? I also think more objects will extend the narrative a bit for a longer read.
I like how it looks so natural and very seamless. I like the gradient in the sky and the clouds! How did you do the clouds? Anyway, it looks really great. Maybe you can add a little color around where the turtle eggs are to make it look more like a nest.
The sand looks the way it does on mines because it's an actual picture of one. Maybe you can try putting a filter on yours. Go to filter--> artistic--> and then film grain. Try playing with the options that are there to get the look that you want. Hope that helps :)
